I’m So Glad You’re My Friend
This journey we travel
Such a lonely road
So often unforgiving
Merciless and cold
I was lost and alone
Wandering aimlessly
And suddenly you appeared
You were waiting just for me
You know I didn’t realize
When you came into my life
You were there to help me
Illuminate the darkness with your light
I thought for sure
I’d have to face it all alone
Luckily I had a friend
Who I could lean on
I’m so glad you’re my friend
I’m so glad you’re my friend
Thank you again
Although our road breaks and bends
I’m so glad you’re my friend
When those winds of change come blowing in
You got to hang on tight and do the best that you can
I’m so glad you’re my friend
I’m so glad you’re my friend
Thank you again
May your road never end
I’m so glad you’re my friend
Your being there made it easier
Your being there made it easier for me
I’m so glad you’re my friend
I’m so glad you’re my friend
Thank you again
Until our paths cross again
I’m so glad you’re my friend
I’m so glad you’re my friend
I’m so glad you’re my friend
Thank you again
Thank you again
I’m so glad you’re my friend

Stuck In A Rut

STUCK IN A RUT
I didn’t think I’d end up this way
Old before my time, wasting away
So much hope when I was young
Now I’m climbing a ladder
A ladder with broken rungs
I’m stuck in a rut
My tires a flat on this bumpy road
I’m spinning my wheels and just can’t seem to go
It makes no difference how hard I try
I’m glued to the floor with blinders on my eyes
I’m stuck in a rut
I got to get away
From this day to day
Down down
The same routine, everyday
I feel like a rat crawling through a maze
I got to keep fighting this rut I’m in
Maybe someday I’ll find myself again
I’m stuck in a rut

Walk All Over Me
04:20
|

WALK ALL OVER ME
Take a piece of my heart
And walk all over me
Chew it up and spit it out
For the world to see
Can you make it go away
And are you the one, who’s gonna save me
I’ll give it all to you
If you want you can take me
I just can’t say no
And I’ll never let you down
I’ll carry all your extra baggage
Just please keep me around
I’ll take what you got to give
Knock me down. Rearrange me.
I’ve been down this road before
Think by now it would change me
Walk all over me
I got everything I ever wanted
But something don’t seem right
I can’t quite put my finger on it
Maybe someday I might
When you look into my eyes
Do you sense my frustration
My day to day life
My quiet desperation
Walk all over me

Look At Us Now

Look at Us Now
On a gray April morning
I took a lonesome walk
I didn’t have no place to go
So I ended up in a house of God
Saw a preacher at the pulpit
Wearing green pastel and white
He cried, Lord, please have mercy
and make everything alright
He said, Look at us crying
Look at us now
We’re waiting for salvation
But the rain keeps on falling down
I saw a woman with a moustache
And a man with a bad toupee
His wig was dingy yellow
But his hair was silver gray
Across the aisle I saw a soldier
Looking scared, but sitting tall
He had the weathered face of a child
He was waiting for his call
He said. Look at us crying
Look at us now
We’re waiting for salvation
And the rain keeps on falling down
The preacher’s eyes burned with fire
And his trembling voice grew thin
When he laid his hands on the soldier
Said, Forgive us for our sins
And the woman sitting next to me
She was sobbing uncontrollably
When she looked up to the heaven
and fell down to her knees
She said. “Look at us crying
Look at us now
We’re waiting for salvation
And the rain keeps on falling down
And the preacher started shaking
when he looked into my eyes
He said, Jesus knows you’re suffering
Jesus sees you cry
I sat there very quietly
I didn’t know what to say
When I felt a hand on my shoulder
It was the man with the bad toupee
He said. Look at us crying
Look at us now
We’re waiting for salvation
And the rain keeps on falling down
Look at us crying
Look at us now
We’re waiting for salvation
And the rain keeps on falling down

Boris' Blues
I'm sitting on my belly
I 'm a sitting here cause I got no place to go
I'm sitting on my belly
I 'm a sitting here cause I got no place to go
I'm a sitting on my belly
Sitting here all alone
Well I'm king about my baby
Why'd she leave me here all alone
I'm a thinking about my baby
Why'd she have to leave me here l alone
I'm a sitting on my belly
Sitting here all alone
I'm sitting on my belly
I 'm a sitting here cause I got no place to go
I'm a sitting on my belly
I am sitting here cause I got no place to go
I'm a sitting on my belly
Sitting here all alone
I'm a sitting on my belly
Sitting here all alone

Hollow Gold

|

HOLLOW GOLD
Streetlights shining hollow gold
The darkened night reveals stories untold
A young man's heart is being bought and sold
Part of the process of growing old
He walks alone in fear
A product of eighteen sheltered years
He's hungry and cold
Still the streetlights
Shine hollow gold
Sunlight curses the dawn
A family father tends to his lawn
He chops away the choking weeds
Cuts the life out of his shrubberies
All those leaves of grass
Memories of his days past
He's waived his control
Still the streetlights
Shine hollow gold

Awareness Poem
They stand like towers
Each eternal home
A dozen plastic flowers
Motionless, alone
Miles of granite memories
Fill the city of unknown
Remind us of what used to be
With monuments of stone
Monuments of stone
